Increasing Demand for Mobile Robots Supporting the Personal Robots Market Growth

Personal robots are pre-programmed and pre-assembled robots used in household and personal applications. The robot–human interface is designed in such a way that even consumers with less knowledge can operate them easily. The increasing adoption of cleaning robots by consumers is projected to boost the growth of the personal robots market during 2016–2022.

In Europe, around 250 research institutes and universities are engaged in various robotics and related technology studies. Owing to numerous security concerns, the adoption of mobile robots is accelerating. These robots can move automatically from one place to another, therefore are being deployed for spying, wherein these are called spying robots.

With the help of such robots, any kind of trespassing by known or unknowns can be detected easily by the owner via the robot’s alarm. For instance, Honda Motors has introduced the iWalk technology for its Asimo, which has predictive movement control, allowing it to predetermine the next movement in real-time and adjust its center of gravity as per the prediction.

Similarly, bipedal walking robots are also gaining popularity in the personal robots market, as they have good walking speed and knowledge of soccer/football techniques, such as kicking and defending.

Furthermore, the declining prices of robots are encouraging customers on a large scale to purchase them. Between 2005 and 2014, the average sales price (ASP) of these robots dropped nearly 27.0% and is further likely to decline by almost 22.0% between 2015 and 2025.

Hence, the rising sale of mobile robots and falling price of personal robots are driving the market growth.
